ORIONAS compact, rad-tolerant optical pre-amplifier

The compact, radiation resistant low-noise optical fiber pre-amplifier developed in ORIONAS was presented at this year’s IEEE International Conference on Space Optical Systems and Applications (ICSOS) 2022 that took place as a virtual event. The presentation included project results on radiation testing, AIT of bread-board and Engineering Model as well as functional testing in a system testbed.

Optical transceiver & amplifier assemblies presented at SPIE Photonics West 2022

ORIONAS DPSK transmitter optical sub-assembly prototype ORIONAS progress on manufacturing, assembly and packaging of DPSK optical transmitter, receiver and low-noise pre-amplifier was presented at 2022 SPIE Photonics West. The presentation was part of SPIE LASE, Free-Space Laser Communications XXXIV session. Leontios Stampoulidis (project co-ordinator) was invited to present the talk titled "H2020-SPACE-ORIONAS miniaturized optical transceivers and amplifiers for high-speed optical inter-satellite links". Article on coherent receiver PIC performance on spin-out datacom application

BER performance of integrated coherent receiver for medium reach optical interconnects IHP has published the paper titled: "Toward coherent O-band data center interconnects" in Frontiers in Optoelectronics. The paper presents the application of electronic-photonic integrated coherent receivers in spin-out telecom applications such as medium reach datacenter interconnects. Miniaturized laser-com modules presented at ICSO 2020 conference

ORIONAS optical pre-amplifier CAD model Liam Henwood-Moroney from G&H presented work on "Miniaturized optical communications modules for space applications". The presentation included the joint work with LEO Space Photonics on the design and preliminary functional testing of ORIONAS radiation resistant, compact optical pre-amplifier.
